"Café Castelo designs a coffee adapted to reusable capsules " Journal Le Soleil
The Nespresso coffee capsule craze led to the introduction of reusable capsules to combat the waste generated by this trend. However, the quality and taste of the coffee brewed in the reusable capsules, especially those compatible with the Vertuoline line, were not up to par, observes Anja Okuka, Business Development Manager at Café Castelo.
"We realized that the capsules on the market were not bad, and that in fact it was the coffee that was not suitable for this type of capsule," she explains. "We used our expertise to innovate by creating a coffee of exceptional quality specially processed for all types of reusable capsules," Okuka says.
This innovation is the result of three years of research and major investments, after which a new machine was designed to mechanically process coffee.
This new product is available online and in the two Café Castelo locations in Quebec City.
